In a move very much like the United States' Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act the Dutch Ministry of Justice recently put in a request to banks to stop providing transactions to online poker rooms. Should banks stop transacting cash for deposits and withdrawals it could put a hurt on the online poker industry, much like the one that occurred when the UIGEA went through. A list of fifty online poker rooms was passed to Dutch banks along with the request to aid them in enacting the ban. A recent bill that would have allowed a state run online poker room was voted down in the Dutch Parliament.
