The biggest name in Australian Poker is usually Joe Hachem, the winner of the 2006 World Series of Poker, and his brother Tony is fairly well known too. It was neither Hachem brother, however, who picked up the win at the neighboring New Zealand Poker Championship final in Christchurch recently, but Australian David Borg. His victory, the largest of Borg's career, included a trophy and $NZ 100,000, which is about equivalent to $80,000 in Australian dollars. Third place went to a New Zealander, John Pye from Auckland, who picked up $NZ34,000, or $A27,850.
