Under Age Poker Players Now Legal

By launchpoker, May 9, 2008 Under Age Poker Players Now Legal

In Tama, Iowa, poker players who have yet to hit their twenty first birthday won't be in violation of the law if they are playing poker at the nearby Meskwaki Casino. A plan has been put forth and approved by the Tribal Council to allow players from as young as 18 to play poker on site. Larry Lasley, a spokesman for the tribe, says this is possible because the casino does not provide the prize pool when poker is played: it is generated by the player's buy ins, and the Tribe will not earn money from these games.
