Offering up 40 player qualifications per weekend for the upcoming 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event, online poker room Bodog seeks to put 700 players into the tournament competing for the estimated $10 million prize pool. Online qualification has become a hot, hip way to avoid paying a $10,000 buy-in to participate in the World Series of Poker's Main Event, and with the proliferation of online poker rooms offering chances at qualifying, it is anyone's guess how many participants at the main event will actually pay their own way.
Bodog poker players can buy in anywhere from $67.50 to $270, or spend $1.10 to win a spot in a qualifier. The 700 qualifiers will receive the prize package which includes the buy-in plus $2500 in travel expenses and other prizes.
