Poker Run Huge Success

By launchpoker, May 6, 2006

When you think of a poker run, you likely think of leather clad Harley owners chugging along a route, stopping at a bar or restaurant along the way to pick up a playing card, and moving on to the next spot on the trial. For a twist, the second annual Street Carts of Canyon Lake Poker Run once again held a poker run with something other than Harleys — they used golf carts.

The event was set up to raise money for local families in need, and dozens of "Street Carts" were lined up to take place in the poker run in great weather. Tickets purchased for $10 would qualify a participant to collect one poker hand, the winners of the event were holding the best poker hands at the end of the run. The event collected over $800 for charity from tickets sold.
