It looked like it was going to be Gus Hansen's game, and his fourth World Poker Tour title - but it wasn't to be so. World Series of Poker bracelet holder David Chiu, starting out as a big underdog on chips in heads up play, came back to take the win from the Great Dane. The WPT victory looked like it was going in Gus's pocket as he systematically eliminated the rest of the players. By the time it got to heads up his chip stack was around ten times bigger than David's, but Chiu never gave up hope. He won his way back to take the crown and over three million as his payday.
