Poker Felony Repealed in Washington State

By launchpoker, Apr 27, 2007

In the United States one state led the charge against online poker by making it a crime, and not only a crime but a felony on par with threatening the Governor: Washington State. The Class C felony would land online poker players in jail and charge them huge fines, but thanks to the efforts of State Rep. Chris Strow, R-Whidbey Island, the law has been changed to allow individuals to play online poker without facing felony charges. The promotion of online poker, however, is still illegal in the state.
