Poker Legend Puggy Pearson Passes Away

He was one of the grand old timers of poker, from before they're never wise to World Series of Poker. In fact, if it wasn't for consummate gambler Puggy Pearson, there likely wouldn't even be a World Series of Poker. A pal of the WSOP founder, it was Pearson, after a marathon game of poker, who came up with the idea for a tournament and coined the term used today, "freeze out." Mr. Pearson passed away April 12 at Las Vegas home.Puggy was part of an institution and will forever be known for his famous quote, which he had emblazoned on the side of his vehicle. "I'll play any man from any land at any game that he can name for any amount that I can count... providing I like it."
