It may seem impossible, but certain studies suggest that the growth of poker is going to take a nosedive. PartyGaming recently cited a study in their security filings that suggested that the annual revenue of poker is going to take a major hit in the next five years. Projected over the next five years the annual growth rate of poker will drop from 158%, the growth rate from the year 2000 to 2005, to around 18% from 2005 two 2010.Regardless of these negative reports, many industry members are geared up in pushing hard to cut a bigger slice of the poker pie. With reality shows themed around poker, such as Bodog founder Calvin Ayre's Wild Card Poker, to Fox broadcasting's Poker Dome, a live show broadcast from inside the Neonopolis mall in Las Vegas that will combine a poker shot clock and high-tech audiovisual components for a show like none other.
