Diabetes Research Benefits from Poker Tournament

Poker has become the hippest way to raise money for charity, and there seems to be no end in sight for willing players. At the beginning of April the Daniel Rogers Foundation hosted its first annual Texas Holdem poker tournament in Hampstead in order to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. More than 55 players showed up to play, and over $3,000 was raised for the Foundation, which was founded and named after Baldwin High School graduate Daniel Rogers who died in 2002 from the disease. Texas Holdem is just the latest way for the charity to raise money, adding to the more than $75,000 raised over the past four years.
