A study which was recently held in Sweden examined the motivation of poker players to choose a privately run poker site over a government run poker site, opening up a great number of possible futures for poker in the country. The only legal poker site in Sweden is Svenska Spel, which is run by the government, but apparently it does not hold large enough tournaments with big enough prizes to satisfy the Swedish poker playing public. This, along with the lack of sign-up bonuses not possible with Svenska Spel, could open the way for privately run poker sites in Sweden's future.
