In South Carolina, more than fifty people were arrested when police raided a home poker game, and of those people the seven identified as the poker dealers as opposed to poker players are to face more serious charges. While dealing is considered a misdemeanor, each dealer convicted will face a $2,000 fine for each count and a year in jail. According to the police investigators the operation was a high stakes one which paid dealers $1,300 a night to deal cards in games such as poker and other casino games.
