Swedish Poker Monopoly Challenged by United Kingdom Outfit

A United Kingdom betting outfit has decided to make an attempt at challenging a potential government monopoly on poker players in Sweden.Ladbrokes has applied for a license to operate its online poker room in Sweden and has said that it will undertake to abide by all social commitments to match the license granted to Svenska Spel. This is necessary because under the European Union law regarding competition, countries may use social reasons to stop competition. Outside of that free and fair competition must be upheld. Ladbrokes is hoping that they will be able to sidestep any social reasons and join in the Swedish competition from poker players.
