Holding their first poker tournament last weekend in Atlantic City at the Trump Taj Mahal the National Deaf Poker Tour showed that once again poker is a game for everyone. Complete with sign language interpreters is standing by to assist dealers in communicating with the players this event was tailor made for deaf poker players. The event which had a bye and cost of $100 was one by a Cleveland, Ohio man when John Merriman captured the championship prize. 27 players cashed in the event but John took the top prize of $6,330.This was the first stop on the tour schedule. The next event will be held at Dean's in Las Vegas in the month of July, the same time the final event of the World Series of poker will be taking place. There will be a third event sometime this year.
