Poker Machine Time Limits May Be Forthcoming

In Australia the debate over poker machines and problem gambling continues. The Victorian Government recently announced a new idea to tackle the old problem, implementing time limits for gambling on the infamous poker machines. Starting in the year 2010 voluntary time limits will be available for gamblers to set on the machines. Gamblers will also be able to set spending limits, although the maximum per play limit will be set for them, down from $10 where it is currently to five dollars per spin. Those opposed to the idea say that it is simply a token gesture.
