Poker Cruise Winner Millionaire

By launchpoker, Mar 24, 2006

Mike Schneider wasn't even going to play. When the 22 year old University of Minnesota student took off on the PokerParty.com Million tournament cruise during spring break, he didn't have poker success on his mind. He just wanted to support his pals and have a good time on break. Once out to sea, however, Mike decided to give it the old college try, and by the time the cruise ship returned Mike was a millionaire. As the first place winner of the PokerParty Million event Mike won $1 million, of which he gets to keep around $600,000 after taxes. Those pals he came to support? They are going to get some of the prize, too, because they helped pay his way into the big event. Mike plans on finishing school and then taking a year or two to try his hand at becoming a professional poker player.
