The charity poker tournament slated to be played on site at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was canceled recently by university officials. The stated reason for shutting down the event, which was expected to bring in more than $25k for charity, was its questionable legality. Holdem for Hunger 2008 (HEFH) was going to kick off on April 20th and raise money for the local college chapter of Nourish International. While emails were sent to administrators expressing concerns about the legality of the event, it was held three years running with no problems.
