Outlasting and outplaying nearly three hundred poker players, political science student Jeff Williams, 19, was not only the last American in the Poker Stars European Poker Tour's Grand Final, he also was the last player. He had some stiff competition, including two past World Series of Poker champions, last year's winner, Australian Joe Hachem, and the prior year's champion, Greg "The Fossileman" Raymer.
Over a million dollars was Jeff's prize for winning, paid in Euro 900,000. Jeff might have thought his folks would be in for a big surprise, but the surprise was on him as his dad, David, and mom, Cindy, showed up to watch him win, making the trip from America after they saw how well he was doing on the PokerStars reports.
