It was reported a few weeks ago that former Senator Alfonse D'Amato (R-NY) was the most likely candidate to become the new chairman of the Poker Players Alliance, but no word from D'Amato's camp was forthcoming, till now. The position, formerly held by Linda Johnson, is now officially D'Amato's, who was described as the "First Senator of Poker" by PPA president Michael Bolcerek. Linda Johnson will remain on the Poker Players Alliance board, assisting D'Amato, Bolcrek and the rest in their quest to bring about fair legislation in the US for the poker industry.
