Heads Up Poker Champion To Defend

By launchpoker, Mar 3, 2006

If you listen long enough to Phil Hellmuth, the professional poker player will let you know that he is the best poker player in the world; at least, that is his story. The man known as the Poker Brat has some claim to the title, at least claim to be named among the best, such as his 2005 victory over Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and a host of other professional poker players in the National Heads Up Poker Championship, which aired last year on NBC. Starting Saturday, March 4th, Hellmuth will be in attendance to defend his title, and there will be plenty of other players there to give him a run for his money.

The three-day tournament will be held in Las Vegas with 64 of the best professional poker players along with poker loving celebrities in one-on-one elimination showdowns. James Woods was one star who tried his hand at hit last year. There will be a $500,000 prize for first place.
