When the World Poker Tour hit the airwaves it sparked a poker revolution, one that is still going on strong years later. Founder Steve Lipscomb is partially responsible for that spark, and recently spoke of how one of the added benefits of poker exposure is respectability, something that poker never had much of before.Speaking at the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business, his message, as part of the Plus Program, was to do what you have a passion for, and what no one but you can do. He saw that, back in 2001, poker was dying out. Poker rooms in casinos were a thing of the past. Libscomb, who had done a documentary on the World Series of Poker, knew that could change. Following his dream has led to the fulfillment of many a professional poker player’s dream as well.
