One of the Largest US WPT Fields in L.A.

While it's not surprising to see thousands of players competing in events like the World Series of Poker, the 791 players who showed up for the World Poker Tour's L.A. Poker Classic Championship nearly broke the WPT records in the US. Each player put up $10k to play generating a $7,593.600 prize pool. The winner of the event will get a check for $2,429,970 as well as a $25,000 seat in the WPT World Championship in April, taking place at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Apparently, the popularity of the WPT is on the rise as recently 937 players showed up at a WPT event in the Bahamas.
