The Lone Star State is known for being big on a lot of things, but poker may just be too unwelcome. The name of the game is Texas Holdem poker, but the State of Texas makes it hard to play the game there. The game is legal, but the laws are so vague that many establishments who would otherwise host games out in the open prefer to do so on the sly. Mike Lavigne, the treasurer of poker group Texas Poker PAC, is one of many seeking to clarify the bill by convincing lawmakers to pass legislation that would allow places with liquor licenses to run poker events.
