One of the larger UK based online poker firms, Ladbrokes Plc, recently posted an annual pretax profit of 246.5 million pounds, which is up from 232.1 million pounds in 2005 by 6 per cent. This makes earnings per share up to 22 pence, as opposed to 12 pence in the previous year. Along with the announcement of the good earnings year the parent company of Ladbrokes Poker also said they will be in the bid for the super casino projected for the UK and would like to run it. Several smaller casinos are also on the radar for acquisition by Ladbrokes this year.
