Player Promises Poker And More

A new sports and gaming channel is launching soon, coming from Flextech, spawning from a programming strand from channel Challenge. The new channel is called Player, and will air on Sky and Telewest from launch on EPG number 123. It is a 24 hour channel that should get some interest with its exclusive programming launch, an Italian football game between Juventus and Sampdoria, live.Player is being billed as having plenty to offer, with adventure programming, fights, gambling, football, action, drive time, and the ever popular poker programming. There will be the drama series Tilt, the mobster movie Casino, live racing and shows from the European Poker Tour. Along with the content that Felxtech acquired to air, Player will be using advertiser-funded programming opportunities (read paid programming.)
