In 2005, Todd Anderson and Greg Lang launched the Heartland Poker Tour, which by all accounts is doing very well indeed. Billed as a poker tour for the average player, the HPT has continued to grow year after year, with more than eight million dollars being paid out to tourney winners so far. Six states ranging from Colorado to New York host the HPT, where players can play for cash prizes as well as tickets to bigger events. The HPT offers buy ins that are big enough to build giant prize pools but small enough to be affordable for the average poker enthusiast.
