Florida Poker Room Bad Beat Jackpot

In poker parlance a "bad beat" is when a poker player starts out with a winning hand but then is outdrawn by a player with an inferior hand, and it usually coincides with a loss of a great deal of money. In one Florida poker room, however, a bad beat could mean a lucky day for one player. The Bad Beat Jackpot has been growing since the start of the year and is predicted to hit over $200k at the Palm Kennel Club's Poker Room in Palm Beach. If a player with four of a kind or better loses to a better hand, the loser gets half the Jackpot, the person who beat him gets 25%, and the remainder is shared out at the table.
