Michael Mizrachi is known around the poker table as the Grinder, a nickname he chose for himself that best symbolizes his determination to keep at it, to do what it takes to win at poker. With three final tables in as many weeks on the poker circuit recently, he is showing that his self chosen label was well picked. Card Player’s Player of the Year award race is a hotly contested honor, and the Grinder is out in front with his recent victories, leading the pack with 3,954 points. His current standings in tournament winnings is sitting at $1,864,127, which is less than a million away from beating his entire year of victories in 2005. That may seem like a lot, and it is, but to a pro poker player with this much heat in him, it is certainly a good bet.
