Some poker pros are opting out when it comes to playing on the pro poker circuit that is the World Poker Tour. Despite the tempting jackpots, most in excess of one million dollars, the pros are upset about a broad reaching filming release that all participating players must sign. Pro Andy Bloch, one of the more vocal of the release opponents, says that this is not an official boycott, just the personal choices of those pros involved.Block and the others oppose the part of the release involving merchandising rights. The WPT has released a statement to the effect that, while they want to put on the best program for the pros, they as a company have yet to turn a profit, reminding the poker world that the WPT is a business.
