North Dakota state representative Jim Kasper might just be online poker’s best friend, but it appears that online poker does not return the feeling. Last year Kasper pushed hard to legalize online poker in his state, and had some success in getting the local politicians to see the benefits, which included massive job creation and plenty of tax revenue. As North Dakota would be the first and only state to legalize online poker, they would quickly corner the market on American online poker enterprise. However, he was voted down in the state senate, 44 nays to 3 yays.Kasper was undeterred, vowing to fight on. The fight is an expensive one, however, and so Kasper turned to the online poker community to seek funds to help him fight on. To date the response has been pretty chilly, and Kasper has said that, unless things change, he may just have to give up the fight.
