Paddy Power, the Irish online gaming and poker site, recently announce that the qualifying events have gotten underway for the Irish Open. A longstanding poker tournament in Europe, the Irish Open will be celebrating 25 years in the running, and for the celebration the Irish Open is going to hold the first event on Irish soil with a prize pool of ˆ1 million.
The Irish Open will begin April 15th and will be held along with Paddy Power and PaddyPowerPoker.com, an online poker room. ˆ50,000 of the total event prize purse is being contributed by Paddy Power, which is hosting satellite events where interested players can win their way into the Irish Open rather than paying the buy in of ˆ3,200 for the main event.
