Former Poker Friend Testifies Re: Former Mayor

Former Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell is on trial for corruption, and Monday morning saw the court listening to tales of gambling and casino trips taken by Campell and a close friend, Gabe Pascarella. Testifying for the government, Pascarella told of the gambling trips he and Campell would take where they would travel to casinos to gamble and play some high stakes poker.According to Pascarella’s testimony, he would use personal credit cards paying for the trips bade by Campell, accompanied by women who were not his wife. Campell would reimburse him with cash, usually, and used cash to gamble and play high stakes poker games. The government is investigating what they state are huge amounts of cash spent by Campell during his 3 1/2 year term as mayor of Atlanta.
