Sixty Grand Raised by Poker Event

By launchpoker, Jan 31, 2008

In the Phoenix area a number of charities have a lot to be grateful about, thanks to a recent poker tournament that pulled in almost sixty thousand dollars to benefit them. Geoff Jenkins, the New Philadelphia outfielder, played at the Jackrabbit Lounge in an event that bore his name: the Geoff Jenkins Celebrity Poker Tournament. The event pulled in money for the Boys and Girls Clubs, and sports stars, local celebrities and musicians took part in the event. Baseball players from more than a dozen teams were playing at the tables, all having a good time. Sponsors put up five thousand dollars and the athletes each paid a thousand.
