Six people have been arrested for running a sophisticated but illegal poker hideout on Long Island in New York City. The warehouse where the operations took place was guarded by lookouts using communicators and surveillance equipment, but it was not enough to prevent the police from finding out about the operation and shutting it down.
Around ten grand in cash was taken by the police during the Thursday night raid, as well as card tables, poker chips and the operation’s patrol vehicle, a sports utility vehicle police had observed patrolling the parking lot in front of the warehouse.
When community complaints made their way to the police, the officers observed two men outside the warehouse who used their communicators to inform those inside whether a potential player should be allowed admittance. All six people arrested are charged with second degree counts of gambling promotion.
