The first ever virtual reality poker room online is going strong according to a recent press release. Online poker room PKR.com has experienced fast growth and is expected to hit 1.5 million registered users at some point in February of 2008. This is great news for the room, which has reached an average of 10,000 players logged on at the same time during peak hours, numbers that put it on par with many of the popular poker room giants that have been online a lot longer than PKR. The big draw for PKR is the video game like realism of the 3D avatars, which players can use to act out their play, doing chip tricks at the table for example.
