The 2008 Aussie Millions Poker Championship is over, and the winner is one Alexander Kostritsyn. Kostritsyn is a poker player from Russia who will return home with a check for $1,650,000 AUD, taking the victory away from a man who was famously in second place once, Erik Seidel. Seidel took second to Johnny Chan in the 1988 World Series of Poker main event, a moment captured for the poker film Rounders. Both players were the final standing of a field of 780, consisting of many locals and many who flew to the southern hemisphere just for this event.
