A poker club took a hit recently by a court ruling that says that poker games are licensed affairs if the club takes a cut. The chairman of the Gutshot Club was found guilty of running unlicensed poker games in a court case that has been closely watched by the poker community. The 1968 Gaming Act takes sway in this event according to the prosecution, and the jury agreed. Derek Kelly was found guilty on two counts of contravening the 1968 Act, setting a strong precedent that will affect all poker clubs in the area.
