Poker players may sometimes expect a police raid if they are in a locale that has iffy legal poker standings, but the 20 players in a home in San Mateo County were likely surprised when police raided the event. Sherrifs and agents with the California Department of Justice halted the game at a house where an illegal gambling operation had been under surveillance for some time, according to authorities. $1,300 in cash was taken along with chips and cards and the tables used to play on. Authorities were tipped off by parking problem complaints and found a website advertising the game.
