WSOP Takes On Poker Commissioner

The World Series of Poker has been around for thirty-six years, and they have decided it is time to hire a commissioner. They did not have to look far, adding the role and duties of commissioner of the World Series of Poker to the plate of Jeffery Pollack, the vice president of Sports and Entertainment for Harrah’s Operating Company, Inc, which is a subsidiary of Harrah’s Entertainment. Harrah’s owns the WSOP.Barring an regulatory approval problems, Pollack will be the new commissioner of the WSOP, a step deemed necessary by the unique sports, gaming, and entertainment challenges presented by the WSOP. By naming him commissioner, Harrah’s invests in Pollack the required power to handle the many tasks required to foster community among players, staff, media and the like.
