Online poker rooms often hold tournaments where the winner gets the buy in to a main event of tournaments like the World Poker Tour or European Poker Tour. The latest trend is to offer buy ins to multiple events, and Pacific Poker and parent company 888.com have gone so far to offer buy ins to four major events during 2008. Their Poker Pro for a Year contest recently came to a close with Englishman Luke "Resteal" Abolins as the winner. Abolins will represent 888 at events such as the 2008 Aussie Millions and World Series of Poker, and second place finisher Carlo Carione will also play in the Aussie Millions.
