Ontario Student Wins $1-million In Poker Game

A 22 year old University of Waterloo student will not have to fret about meeting his college tuition anymore, thanks to the end of a week of poker playing that has left him a millionaire. More than 700 players had all hoped it would be them, but the Third Annual PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, held at the Atlantis Casino Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, ended with Steve Paul-Ambrose the emerging champion.Tuesday was his day as the business and science student, in his third year at the University of Waterloo, snagged a seat at the World Poker Tour’s championship event in addition to his $1,363,100 cash prize. Mr. Ambrose is known for being more of a penny-ante poker player, and it will take all his skills to take him far in the WPT event in April.
