WPT Prize Pool Tops Five Million

When the World Poker Tour puts on a poker tournament, they don't fool around. The Borgata WPT Classic has begun and the prize pool has soared over five million dollars, with a first place prize of $1,603,410. Atlantic City saw tons of pros arrive hunting for the next million dollar poker payout, including Jamie Gold, David Williams, Mark Newhouse and Phil Ivey. The prize pool was built as five hundred and seventy players put up their $10,000 to play. The new poker room at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa also drew rave reviews from those sitting at the 85 tables found inside.
