An introduction to new internet legislation is being called controversial, and if it is being viewed in any way like the UIGEA was in America, the label comes as no surprise. The legislation seems to come from a good source, the protection of children. The Australian Telecommunications Minister Stephen Conroy made the announcement on December 31st that ISPs would be required to provide what he called a "clean feed" to any school or public PC - and homes - where children have access to the computers. These feeds would restrict certain content based on age, including online poker.
