High Stakes Poker Kicks Off Mid January

The third season of GSN's High Stakes Poker kicks off on January 15th at 9pm with Jamie Gold, the 2006 World Series of Poker champion, taking a seat along with other players. When Gold won the WSOP, he came into the event after training under legendary Johnny Chan, but the High Stakes Poker show is a bit different than the WSOP. In the latter a player pays as much as ten or fifty thousand dollars to play in an event, but the HSP show is a cash game, which means Gold could lose a lot more than a buy in, as could many of the other players. Also look for commentator Gabe Kaplan to take a seat at the table this season.
