Big Video Poker Take in Montana

When it comes to wagering on video poker and other video gambling devices, Montana pulled in big numbers during fiscal year 2006. Even with a slight decline in the number of gaming machines, the state Justice Department reported that $1.13 billion was wagered on video gambling. According to the Gambling Control Division, the period of July 2005 through June 2006 saw an increase from $1.06 billion wagered the year before, and $1.01 billion in the year before that. All of that adds up to good news for gambling taxes, which totaled just under $57 million in 2006.
