Online Poker Addict Sentenced To One Year

Daytime TV host Phillip Schofield also owns a travel agency called Lets Go Travel, for which he does his own commercials. One of his employees, 21 year old Cindy Streets, ran the bureau de change at his Exeter branch; she also played a lot of online poker. It was her addiction to poker and betting exchanges that lead her to taking £26,100 in a four week period in an attempt to gamble her way out of debt.The Exeter Crown Court was given the story that Streets ex boyfriend persuaded the 21 year old that they would be able to win enough gambling to pay back what she stole and pay off her five credit cards. The former flame is also a gambling addict. Judge Graham Cottle sentenced Street to 12 months in jail.
