All In

  Some magazines have it, and some don't: the sense of style, the right amount of education versus the right amount of entertainment. While we as readers won't think about this for the most part as we pick up a magazine, we certainly won't buy a magazine for a second time if it failed to deliver in that initial read. Unlike books which can be polished for years before publication, a magazine has to be consistently well-written, and ready for publication on a regular basis. Luckily for All In, their magazine is all of these things, and shines every time it arrives on the shelves.  All In is a perfect medium: the pages look sophisticated, but they're not overdone. The articles are educational, but not the point of being boring. Finally, the magazine is entertaining without that feeling that they're trying too hard. The articles all have an informal style that never feels condescending or overly-simplistic. There are celebrity poker players who contribute to the magazine for the inside view, and there are articles that explain the finer points of the game as well. If there's something that you wish you knew about poker, this is the place to find it.  The bad thing about All In is the fact that it's only published once per month, compared to the majority of poker magazines that are published bi-monthly. In addition, it's slightly more expensive than the other poker magazines, but it is a good magazine, and is worth the price being charged. For some, it's the only magazine worth buying. Pick up a copy and read through before subscribing to see if you feel it is worth the money.
