While we all love poker, Texas Hold'em, poker tournaments, and anything that has to do with the industry. Being "poker players" is not all we are about. Most poker players have interests that go beyond what happens during a hand of Texas Hold'em or Omaha. That is why we have the lifestyle section.
Ever since Brock Lesnar’s classless rant following his successful title defense against Frank Mir, many of us have been waiting for somebody to pound the ex-WWE Superstar into something that resembles Malt-o-Meal. Obviously Frank Mir wasn’t the man for the job, but a lot of people were pretty sure that Shane Carwin could get the job done. Because of the Brock Lesnar vs. the undefeated Shane Carwin match at UFC 106, most MMA fans had November 21st circled on our calendars. This fight is now not to be, at least not yet.
Brock Lesnar is reportedly too ill to train properly for this fight. Only somebody with the IQ of a hermit crab would even suggest that this isn’t legitimate, and that Brock is too scared to fight. So if the man says he is sick, he is probably sick. And while we lots of us want to see Carwin commit a hate crime in the cage against Mr. Lesnar, we want to see it done while Brock is at his best. Even with Lesnar vs. Carwin, UFC 106 will be great, just not AS great.
MMA fans should not worry, this fight will happen. It has been rescheduled for UFC 108 on January 2nd, 2010. Brock Lesnar will either solidify his place as champion against an opponent who can match his power, or he will get his comeuppance.
