2008 WSOP - Tiffany's Run Ends

During the 2008 World Series of Poker main event it was day seven, the last two tables, and only 18 players were left. The one woman in the field was hoping to make the final table, something that had not happened since Barbara Enright many years ago. She played fantastic poker, but could she hold out?

Tiffany Michelle played this hand with two big chip leaders, and two players who would eventually make the final table, Dennis Philips and Peter Eastgate. Philips was first to act with:

and from that point Tiffany was almost destined to lose. She was under the gun, so she checked her top pair. Dennis put out one million with his mid pair, which Peter smooth-called. Tiffany moved all in, to which Dennis looked at Peter and said, “I wish I was behind you.” He folded, Peter called, and when he turned over the cards Dennis proclaimed “I knew it!”

and it was over for Tiffany; no other card could help her.

and was dealt as Tiffany collected hugs from around the table, and then went on to collect her winnings for placing 17th.
