With the action hot and heavy at the 2008 World Series of Poker main event final table it was no wonder some players were sweating the action; but in poker that means waiting to see if your hand holds up or gets crushed. In this hand observer and poker pro Chino Rheem put it right when he said, “There’s always a sweat.”
Russian poker super star Ivan Demidov was first to put money in this pot beyond the big blind of $300k, making it $680k while holding:

The Flop came down:

and it was looking good for Kim to double up and hang around. He had to dodge a running pair of cards, a 9 and a 8.
The Turn was:

a scary card indeed for Kim. His pal Chino stood up and said his line, and Kim nodded sagely. He still didn’t like sweating it, though.
The River came:

giving him a chance to relax. With that card Kim managed to double up to just over a million in tourney chips, and stick around for another hand.
